Joy Behar Stuns ‘The View’ By Shading Republicans During Alyssa Farah Griffin’s Pregnancy Announcement: “There She Goes!”

After weeks of wearing loose-fitting blouses and hiding her stomach behind the Hot Topics table, Alyssa Farah Griffin finally revealed on this morning’s episode of The View that she and her husband are expecting their first baby together. However, Joy Behar couldn’t help but make the conversation about politics.

While discussing some of the co-hosts’ most embarrassing moments, Griffin had producers play a clip from a September 2023 episode of The View in which Whoopi Goldberg abruptly halted a Hot Topics segment to ask her if she was pregnant.

“So, Whoopi, do you want to ask me again?” Griffin said when cameras returned to the present-day panel, showing off her budding baby bump. The ladies all jumped up to hug Griffin, who revealed that her baby boy will arrive in February 2026, and that she’s about five-and-a-half months pregnant.

The former White House staffer—and only registered Republican on the show—has been open about her IVF journey over the last year.

“I went through IVF. It was hard. It took us about a year,” she said on this morning’s episode. “It took us five rounds, but he’s here, he’s coming. I’m so grateful to have the most supportive husband in the world, Justin.”

Griffin also encouraged women to speak with their doctors if they are hoping to start a family someday.

“My advice to people is don’t give up hope if you’re going through infertility,” she said. “I know it’s cost prohibitive for some, just try and go see your doctors. By the way, if you’re younger and you know you want kids but you haven’t met the right partner, still see your doctors so you have a plan and you have an idea of what roadblocks you might have and what you can do ahead of it.”

That’s when Behar killed the moment by bringing up politics, asking Griffin, “Shouldn’t Republicans be supporting free healthcare for IVF? It seems to me that they should. They want babies!”

Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin called out Behar for inserting politics into the joyous moment, joking, “There she goes!”

Griffin, meanwhile, laughed off the comment before adding, “I’m planning to write something on this at some point because I actually think there are really good public policies that could make it more affordable. Families, they’re the backbone of the economy, but they’re also just the best thing for society, so I want to make more women able to have their families.”

Goldberg ended the segment by telling viewers, “Just so we clear all of it up. Don’t worry about your religion and IVF. God wants you to have that baby. Have that baby.”
