Joy Behar Shuts Down Tense Fight Between Ana Navarro And Sunny Hostin On ‘The View’: “Ana, We’re On Television!”

Tensions between Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro reached their boiling point on this morning’s episode of The View as the two women argued over President Donald Trump‘s Venezuela operations.

With conversations of a potential United States takeover of Greenland ramping up, Hostin questioned why Republicans are speaking out against that topic, while simultaneously supporting the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and the US taking the country’s oil. Navarro, for her part, tried to explain it to Hostin.

“Venezuela is a dictatorship. Greenland is not. Denmark is our ally. Greenland is our ally,” she began. “We have military bases and operations in Greenland. Denmark is part of NATO as we are, so we are part of one big alliance. Venezuela is a place where they kill, jail, and torture the opposition, where they oppress human rights.”

She added, “My point is, we cannot make an equivalency between Greenland and Venezuela, so let’s just not because we lose a point if we do that.”

But Hostin wouldn’t back down, firing back, “No, we don’t. The law is the law. It is an unlawful thing that we did in Venezuela, and it would be unlawful for us to do it in Greenland.”

“I think you’re wrong,” Hostin told Navarro, who replied, “OK, well, I think you’re wrong.”

Navarro argued that Trump is under the impression that his “successful mission in Venezuela” entitles him to other countries, like Greenland. Though, as Navarro pointed out, the mission is not accomplished “until every single political prisoner is released, until there’s free and fair elections, until there are no foreign hostages, until there is democracy and freedom” in Venezuela.

At that point, Alyssa Farah Griffin was attempting to chime in with her own opinion, but the two women wouldn’t back down from each other.

“So, you think it’s OK that we took the oil? That’s OK?” Hostin pressed, to which Navarro answered, “Do I think it’s OK? Venezuelans think it’s OK that we’re taking the oil because Maduro stole it.”

Hostin and Navarro continued to bicker, all while Griffin tried even harder to squeeze into the conversation. When there was no end in sight, Joy Behar called out, “Hold on. Ana! We’re on television!”

When the attention finally turned to Griffin, she joked, “Guys, I’m eight months pregnant, can we all have a chance to speak? What are we doing?”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
