Joy Behar Scolds Sunny Hostin For Asking ‘The View’s Stage Manager If He “Hooked Up” With Her Daughter: “You’re Talking About My Child!”
Sunny Hostin was forced to apologize after outing Joy Behar‘s daughter’s past romance with The View‘s stage manager, Paul, on this morning’s episode of the hit daytime talk show.
During a Hot Topics segment about dating apps, Joy told the panel that she would rather “match people up” herself. Ana Navarro added that she and Joy were just trying to set up a View crew member backstage. While Joy has yet to find someone for him, she said she once tried to match her assistant with someone who turned out to be a “criminal.”

“So, you have to do your due diligence,” the comedian advised.
According to Hostin, there have been other romances behind the scenes on The View over the years, including one that involved Joy’s daughter, Eve Behar.
“Didn’t you hook up your daughter with Paul, our stage manager?” she asked Joy, who replied, “Paul went out with my daughter years ago.”
The camera panned to a sheepish Paul, who insisted his relationship with Joy’s daughter was “a long time ago.” When Hostin asked if there was a past “hookup” between them, Paul shook his head no.
“You’re talking about my child!” Joy told Hostin, who sipped her drink and apologized for spilling the gossip. Joy confirmed, “He went on a couple of dates with her, I think,” but said she had “nothing to do with it.”
Sara Haines joked that Paul could’ve been calling Joy “mom” if things worked out between them, to which the longtime co-host quipped, “He does anyway.”
As Haines mentioned, both parties are “happily married with children” now. Eve, whom Joy shares with her ex-husband Joseph Behar, is a full-time ceramicist, according to People. She married physician assistant Alphonso Anthony Scotti in 2007 before welcoming their son, Luca, in 2011. While Eve largely lives a private life, she did give her mom a Mother’s Day shoutout in May 2020.
“Happy Mother’s Day to my mom and all the rest of us bad asses,” she captioned a sketch drawing of Joy. “Dog moms, goat moms. Etc. Everyone who helps raise the young ones. Nannies, friends, aunts.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
