News of the deal broke as the Mets and Padres were on the field and Buttó in the bullpen at Petco Park.

SNY captured the scene during its broadcast as the right-hander sat next to bullpen coach José Rosado, who appeared to deliver the news.

Buttó then seemed to be fighting back some emotions as he dipped his head down and wiped his face before Rosado patted him on the knee.

The hurler was later seen getting up off the bench and walking out of the bullpen, still seeming to be caught up in the news. He at one point put both hands on the back of his hat as he walked out of the bullpen.

He was later seen saying his goodbyes to players inside the Mets’ dugout.

Buttó has spent his entire career with the Mets organization after he was signed as an international free agent in 2017, making his MLB debut for the club on Aug. 21, 2022, in a start against the Phillies.

This season, Buttó has pitched 47 innings with a 3.64 ERA and 41 strikeouts.

The Mets now bring in Rogers as a late-inning reliever, though the submariner is slated to be a free agent after the season.

Tidwell, a right-handed pitcher, is ranked as the 10th-best Mets prospect by MLB Pipeline. Gilbert, an outfielder, sits 12th on that list.

Rogers recorded a 1.80 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 50 innings for the Giants this season.
