Jonathan Taylor’s ridiculous season, favorites dominate

A historic season

Jonathan Taylor is running away with the Offensive Player of the Year award.

The Colts running back has a ridiculous 12 touchdowns and 850 yards on the ground through eight games.

FanDuel Sportsbook already has Taylor as a -250 favorite to win the OPOY, well ahead of the second-favorite Jaxon Smith-Njigba (+600).

He’s also sneaking into the NFL MVP conversation. At +1400, Taylor has the sixth-best odds on the board and is, by far, the highest non-quarterback in the running.

Wacky AFC North

Their 2-5 record be damned, the Ravens are the favorites in the AFC North.

Oddsmakers are apparently pricing in a strong second-half for Baltimore, pegging them as a -110 favorite to win the division.

Tyler Huntley helped get the Ravens back on track and keep their playoff hopes alive by taking down the Bears.

The Ravens are expected to get back Lamar Jackson on Thursday for their road bout against the Dolphins, which will, of course, be a boon for the playoff hopes.

Their jump comes after the Steelers lost two games in a row to the Bengals and Packers, dropping them to 4-3 on the season.

Red-hot favorites

Congratulations if you faded the underdogs this week.

Favorites went 11-2 against the spread during Week 8, which was the best weekly showing by favorites since December 1985, according to Action Network’s Evan Abrams.

It was the second straight week that favorites cleaned up — in Week 7, those favored went 10-5 against the spread.

Hilariously, the two favorites who lost, the Falcons and Bengals, were two of the most popular survivor league picks of Week 8.

Jets get off the schneid

There will be no winless season in New York.

The Jets pulled off a miracle comeback to take down the Bengals, giving them their first W of the season.

The victory hurt their chances at getting the No. 1 overall pick, though.

The Jets now have the third-best odds (+425) to finish with the worst record in the NFL, ahead of only the Titans (+105) and Saints (+295).
