A new Peacock limited series is diving deeper into the mind of one of America’s most twisted and notorious individuals: serial killer John Wayne Gacy.

Inspired by a documentary that debuted on the streamer in 2021, “Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy” is now available to stream in full. “Severance” actor Michael Chernus takes on the title role, which he says he was initially ‘hesitant” to play.

The show tells the story of Gacy, his victims, their families, and the investigators who unspooled the details that led to Gacy being caught and found responsible for the deaths of 33 young men and boys between 1972 and 1978.

Per the official synopsis, “Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy “peels back the twisted layers of Gacy’s life while weaving in heartrending stories of his victims; exploring the grief, guilt, and trauma of their families and friends; and exposing the systemic failures, missed opportunities, and societal prejudices that fueled his reign of terror.”
