Jets takeaways, report card from NFL Week 5 loss to Cowboys

The Jets were blown out by the Cowboys, 37-22, at home. Here are some takeaways:

1. It would be dumb to put a coach on the hot seat after five games, but it is OK to have some concern about Aaron Glenn and this coaching staff. The Jets looked like they completely folded in the second quarter after Breece Hall’s fumble. They allowed the Cowboys to score 16 points in 42 seconds and suddenly a 10-3 deficit became 23-3 in the blink of an eye.

I don’t think anyone was delusional about this season, but the Jets look awful and the expectation was they would be better coached and better prepared than last year. So far, that has not been the case.

2. This is the second time in three weeks when one of the major storylines for the opponent has been offensive line injuries. The Cowboys were missing four starters on Sunday after the Buccaneers were missing three starters two weeks ago. Even with that favorable matchup, the Jets are getting no pass rush. They had one sack on Sunday and that was not even a real one. They got credited for a sack when Dak Prescott slid short of the line of scrimmage late in the game. They sacked Baker Mayfield once two weeks ago.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
