Jets’ locker room makeover comes with a 2,000-pound ‘wow’ factor



The Jets are used to being on CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN and The NFL Network. Now, the team could be featured on HGTV. 

The face-lift the franchise has undergone this offseason continued with major renovations made to the locker room and surrounding areas inside the Jets training center in Florham Park. As players returned to work on Tuesday morning, they were greeted by a locker room that was barely recognizable from the one they left behind this spring.

Gone were the old wood lockers with the small black stools in front of them. In their place are state-of-the-art lockers that featured a video monitor above them with each player’s picture, name, number, home state and college.

The lockers, which weigh nearly 1,000 pounds each, feature black leather seats, storage areas, charging stations, safes and high-tech ventilation to remove odor and moisture from their cleats and pads.
