Jets’ Braelon Allen to miss extended time with knee injury
Jets running back Braelon Allen suffered an MCL sprain during Monday night’s loss in Miami and will likely be placed on the injured reserve list — for a minimum stint of four weeks — The Post confirmed. Allen is expected to seek additional medical opinions.
The 21-year-old second-stringer — who coughed up a key fumble near the goal line in the 27-21 loss to the Dolphins — was knocked out of action after injuring his left knee during a kick return in the second quarter.

Allen, a 2024 fourth-round pick, was able to walk to the medical tent and the locker room, but struggled to put weight on the injured leg.

Head coach Aaron Glenn said he isn’t sure how long Allen will be sidelined.
“I wish I had an answer for that right now,” Glenn said Tuesday. “I really don’t know how serious it is … I’m hopeful it’s not, but we’ll see.”
Through four games, Allen has rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, along with two receptions for 17 yards.
After leaving Monday’s game, Breece Hall was given his most carries (14) since the season-opener, rushing for 81 yards, while making a season-high five receptions for 30 yards.
The Jets currently rank third in the NFL in rushing yards per game (144.5) after gaining 197 yards on the ground (seven yards per carry) against the Dolphins,
“I’m encouraged by our run game,” Glenn said. “I thought Breece did a hell of a job of toting the ball.”
