She delivered the news through a touching video showing her teaching her son, Sky Safir, 2, to say, “Mummy’s gonna be okay,” which he then repeated to the camera.
“And…I AM OK Results = I have NO cancer spread 😭😭😭 Happy tears are real 😭😭😭😭😭😭,” the “Domino” hitmaker, 37, wrote in her caption. “Thank YOU for the prayers, the love, the well wishes, the joy and all of the positive energy. 🥹 🫀= 🔋🔋🔋🔋🔋🔋🔋🔋.”
Jessie J noted that the video was filmed the night before her surgery.
“We called it baby boy,” she continued. “You are my biggest ray of light and with you in my life the darkness will never win. ☁️🌞”
The Grammy nominee shares her son with boyfriend Chanan Safir Colman.
The pair welcomed their first child in May 2023, nearly two years after the British singer revealed she had suffered a miscarriage.
She went on to explain that she is set to undergo one more operation following her initial mastectomy and reconstruction surgery on one of her breasts.
“Lots of healing to go and one more surgery to make these cousins look more like sisters,” she concluded. “But for now it’s gratitude time and I am changing my name to The LopJess monster 🧟♀️🌶️🍈🍳.”
Jessie J initially revealed her “early breast cancer” diagnosis on Instagram last month.
“I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,” the “Flashlight” vocalist said in a video posted June 3. “I’m highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding onto the word ‘early.’”
She shared that she learned of her diagnosis before releasing her single “No Secrets” in late April.
“I just wanted to be open and share it,” she continued. “One, because selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories.”
The “Bang Bang” singer said at the time that she would “disappear for a bit” to undergo surgery following her performance at the Summertime Ball in London on June 15.
Jessie J then took to Instagram on June 23 to share that she was back home to “rest and wait for [her] results” following surgery.
“I will always show the good and hard bits of any journey I go through,” she captioned her post. “Grateful to my doctor / surgeon and all the nurses who cared for me and all my family / friends who came to visit. 🫂”
The post featured a series of photos and videos showing the singer in her hospital bed, as well as moments with her son and boyfriend.
In one clip, she explained to 2-year-old Sky that the surgery involved blood being drained from her breasts.
“Yeah, so the water and the blood comes out of Mummy’s booby and comes out of the tube and goes into the bottle,” she told him.
The UK and European leg of Jessie J’s “No Secrets Tour” is still scheduled to kick off in Amsterdam in early October, according to her website.
