Jennifer Lopez Cuts Off Craig Melvin On ‘Today’ After He Mentioned Her Divorce From Ben Affleck: “Look At This Guy”
Craig Melvin appeared to shock Jennifer Lopez by boldly bringing up her recent divorce from Ben Affleck during their interview on The Today Show.
Lopez was visiting the NBC talk show to promote her new film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, when Melvin pointed out that her ex-husband was credited on the film.

“In the middle of filming this elaborate, beautiful musical, your divorce is also finalized with Ben—,” Melvin began to say.
Lopez cut him off with a laugh. “There you go,” she commented.
As Melvin attempted to continue with his point, Lopez added, “Look at this guy.”
Melvin eventually finished his point, telling the actress, “Your ex is an executive producer on the film!”
Lopez credited Affleck as being one of the main reasons the musical was successfully made. “He is,” she said. “If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have got made and I will always give him that credit.”
Lopez and Affleck reconnected in 2021, almost 20 years after they first dated and got engaged. The couple were married for almost three years until their divorce was finalized in January.
The actress added that the film helped her cope with the divorce.
“Things happen, but you have to keep going,” Lopez told Melvin.
“The movie is about escapism. It’s about how movies and art save us in the hardest times of our lives,” she said. “It’s a dream come true for me that it really got me through to kind of survive a moment that was difficult in my personal life, as well. After that, I took some time off and now we’re back.”
Melvin noted, “It sounds like it might have helped save you,” which she confirmed.
Kiss of the Spider Woman releases in theaters Oct. 10.
