Great Britain delegation head Gary Anderson and manager Brady Marcelino said last month at the Winter Meetings that there was strong interest in having Chisholm — who is entering his walk year — on the team; it was just a matter of working through eligibility and insurance, which has evidently been approved.

Chisholm, the Bahamas native who played for Great Britain in the WBC qualifiers as an 18-year-old in 2016, joins teammates Aaron Judge and David Bednar (USA) in committing to the event.

But a handful of other Yankees are also candidates to play in the tournament, including Camilo Doval (Dominican Republic), Fernando Cruz (Puerto Rico), José Caballero (Panama) and Austin Wells (Dominican Republic).

Great Britain is in Pool B with the USA, Mexico, Italy and Brazil, with pool play set for March 6-11 at Houston’s Daikin Park.
