“It was the best,” Watt began. “This was such a cool morning for me to have my wife, Kealia, and my son, Koa, out on the field. Obviously, so many memories in this building, so many great throwbacks, and to see him [Koa] run into that end zone, the same one I’ve run into before, just unbelievable feeling this morning.”
A first-round pick out of Wisconsin, the Texans selected Watt 11th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.
The superstar defensive end was named the Defensive Player of the Year in three of his ten seasons in Houston, and earned First-team All-Pro honors five times.
In the weeks following the 2020 season, Watt asked for his release from the team and subsequently signed a two-year deal with the Cardinals.

He suffered a shoulder injury midway through the 2021 campaign and underwent surgery.
Watt endured another health scare the following season, revealing in October 2022 that he experienced atrial fibrillation and “had my heart shocked back into rhythm.”
He later announced his plans to retire after the season, ending his NFL career with 448 solo tackles and 114.5 sacks across 151 regular-season games.
Watt went on to sign with CBS Sports in 2023 after his retirement. He worked as an in-studio host before pivoting to the booth this season with announcer Ian Eagle.
Before making the shift to the booth, Watt and wife Kealia became parents of two after welcoming son Niko Benjamin in June. Koa arrived in October 2022 — two years after the couple tied the knot.
