Israel drafting hostage deal proposal as officials signal agreement could happen by Friday

The Israeli government has begun drafting the official hostage deal proposal to be brought for a vote — as officials signal that an agreement to end the war could be reached with Hamas as soon as Friday, according to reports by Tel Aviv’s i24 News.

Officials have indicated there has been significant progress in the talks, with one source telling The Jerusalem Post, “It seems the situation is not ‘if’ a deal is reached, but ‘when’ it will be announced.”

The deal would see the return of all 48 Israeli hostages in Hamas’ custody and achieve a cease-fire in the conflict that has been raging for almost exactly two years.

In exchange, Hamas is seeking the release of about 250 Palestinians imprisoned in Israel.

Still, some sticking points remain — such as the inclusion of some significant Hamas leaders on the Israeli prison release list, as well as the disarmament of the terrorist group.

The progress came hours after Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner landed in Egypt to represent the US in the talks on Wednesday.
