Is the viral skincare worth it?

Here at Page Six, we’re always keeping track of what’s “in” for skin.

And in recent months, Biodance’s Bio Collagen Real Deep Mask has managed to score both TikTok buzz and shout-outs from stars like Kyle Richards, Ciara Miller, Lala Kent and Paige DeSorbo.

“Recently these have been my go-to; I’ve gotten all my friends into them,” DeSorbo said on Amazon Live this year, while Miller told Page Six Style, “You’re seeing [these] around a lot for a reason.”

To get to the bottom of the viral phenomenon, we put the hydrating beauty buy to the test. Read on for our full thoughts on whether these sheet masks stand up to the Hollywood hype.

What makes the Biodance collagen mask different?

Unlike most sheet masks, Biodance’s are designed to be worn overnight (or for three to four hours).

Since each one features a solidified 1.19-ounce ampoule, it takes some time for the product to soak into your skin. Once it’s fully absorbed, the mask turns clear.

The K-beauty brand promises deep hydration — thanks to ingredients like oligo-hyaluronic acid — as well as brightening and “pore-perfecting” benefits.

My review

A writer wearing a Biodance face mask
I tested the mask for three hours. Page Six

Pros:

  • Feels cool and dewy on the face
  • Comfortable for longer wear
  • Stayed put even while cleaning, watching TV, etc.

Cons:

  • Takes a while for the product to fully absorb, so not the best choice for a quick pre-event refresh

While I rarely deviate from my tried-and-true skincare routine, face masks are the one thing I love to switch up — and I’m pretty picky about them.

I’m not a fan of papery sheet masks, so I was excited about the thick, gel-like consistency of Biodance’s. I love how cooling the formula felt on my skin, and I can see how it would be comfortable to sleep in.

Since I’m a pretty heavy sleeper (and had visions of mask smeared all over my precious sheets), I opted to wear mine for three hours instead of overnight. It stayed in place perfectly, even while I was moving around doing the rest of my “Sunday reset.”

Though nothing is a magic bullet, my face felt refreshed and glowy after I removed the Biodance mask. Plus, I love that it gradually turns clear, so you can actually see the product absorbing in real time.

The final verdict

Compared to my other favorites from brands like 111Skin, Biodance’s face masks are a steal at $19 for a four-pack. And while I’d have to use them for more time to see the long-term effects, the refreshed, dewy feeling I got after my first use is enough to make me want to add them to my Sunday routine. I can see why so many Bravo stars who spend their days on camera swear by these.

How we tested

I tried the Biodance face mask for the recommended wear time, keeping the following factors in mind:

  • Ease of use: Did it stay in place?
  • Comfort: Did it feel refreshing and hydrating on the skin?
  • Results: Did my skin look glowy after use?
