Is the Sydney Sweeney Movie ‘Christy’ Streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?

If you’ve ever wanted to see Sydney Sweeney beat the crap out of someone, you’re in luck, because Christy, the new sports biopic starring Sweeney as a professional boxer, opens in movie theaters this weekend.

Directed by David Michôd, with a screenplay written by Michôd and Mirrah Foulkes, Christy is based on the true story of pro-boxer Christy Martin, who competed from 1989 to 2012. By the 1990s, she was a boxing star. And by 2010, she was making headlines for other reasons—because her husband tried to murder her. Good luck with that one, buddy.

Sweeney stars in the film as Martin, while Ben Foster plays her abusive coach-turned-husband, James V. Martin. Also starring Merritt Wever, Katey O’Brian, Ethen Embry, Chad L. Coleman, Jess Gabor, and Tony Cavalero, Christy has received mixed reviews from critics so far. But we have no doubt Sweeney fans will be curious to see her in a role like this. Is the Christy 2025 movie streaming on Netflix or Prime Video?

Christy is not streaming on Netflix or Prime Video right now. While it’s possible Christy may stream on Netflix someday, it won’t be until after the theatrical run and digital release of the movie. Christy is not a Netflix original—it’s a small, independent film being distributed by Black Bear in the U.S.

You will be able to purchase Christy on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Christy on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription any time soon, because it is not a Prime original movie. If you want to watch Christy movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms.
