Is the ‘Anniversary’ 2025 Movie Streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?

There’s still a few more days left in spooky season, so you might as well make the most of it by going to see the new thriller movie, Anniversary, in theaters this weekend.

Directed by Jan Komasa, with a screenplay written by Lori Rosene-Gambino, Anniversary is a new a original thriller about a tight-knit family caught up in a cult-like movement known as “The Change.” The ensemble cast stars Diane Lane and Kyle Chandler as a married couple who witness their lives fall apart after their son (Dylan O’Brien) starts dating his mom’s former student (Phoebe Dynevor). Also starring Madeline Brewer, Zoey Deutch, Mckenna Grace, and Daryl McCormack, Anniversary is an interesting and chilling look at the rise of doomer-ism and corporate authoritarianism in the United States. Cheery stuff!

While you’d probably get the full effect of the movie by watching it on the big screen, we also totally get it if you want to wait to watch this one at home. Read on to find out what we know about when the 2025 Anniversary movie will be available on streaming.

Where to watch the 2025 Anniversary movie:

For now, the Anniversary movie will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in theaters wide in the U.S. on Friday, October 31. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Anniversary is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.

Is Anniversary movie streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime?

Anniversary is not streaming on Netflix right now. That said, Anniversary is a Lionsgate release, and another recent Lionsgate release, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, began streaming on Netflix after two-and-a-half-months in theaters. However, that seems to be the exception, because all the Lionsgate movies following Den of Thieves have not streamed on Netflix. So most likely, Anniversary will not be streaming on Netflix anytime soon.

You will be able to purchase Anniversary on Amazon Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital. You also might be able to stream Anniversary on Prime for free eventually, thanks to the new deal between Lionsgate and Amazon that will send the 2026 Lionsgate movies to Amazon Prime for the “Pay 1” window, after the films play in theaters. Even though it’s still 2025, according to Variety, Prime Video also got the streaming rights to a “package” of 2025 films, too. It’s not clear which films those are, and if it includes Anniversary. But it’s possible that Amazon subscribers will be able to stream Anniversary for free on Prime in the next year or so.

Is Anniversary movie streaming on Starz?

Anniversary is not yet streaming on Starz. You might see Anniversary on Starz early next year, because it is a Lionsgate film, and Lionsgate extended its output deal with Starz, despite the fact the studios are still planning to separate in 2026. Supposedly, under the new terms of the deal, Starz will have exclusive rights to Lionsgate films post-theaters, and that the window will now come sooner after the movie’s theatrical run.

In practice, the recent Lionsgate films don’t seem to be streaming on Starz at an accelerated rate. The 2025 Lionsgate film Den of Thieves 2: Pantera began streaming on Netflix about two-and-a-half months after opening in theaters, and yet the movie is still not streaming on Starz. So, that’s confusing! The 2025 Lionsgate movie Shadow Force began streaming on Starz on about four months after the movie opened in the theaters. If Anniversary follows the same release pattern, you might see the movie on Starz in about four months, which would be around late February or early March 2026.

Starz typically costs $10.99/month, but right now, you can subscribe and get your first three months for $0.99/month. Additionally, you can prepay for $11.99 for 12 months of Starz and save over $50.

But clearly, not all Lionsgate movies are following that strategy in 2025, and some may be going to Prime instead of Starz. Other Lionsgate movies have taken upwards of nine months to stream on Starz. Right now, we don’t have a clear look at Lionsgate’s 2025 release strategy. If you want to see Anniversary right away, you should go watch it in a movie theater.
