Is ‘Freakier Friday’ Streaming on Netflix or Disney+?

Don’t wanna grow up? Then get out and revisit your childhood with Freakier Friday, opening in theaters this weekend.

The sequel to the 2003 Disney movie Freaky Friday (which was, itself, a remake of the 1976 movie, which was based on the 1972 novel), this sequel reunites Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, everyone’s favorite body-swapped mother-and-daughter duo. Directed by Nisha Ganatra, with a screenplay written by Jordan Weiss, Freakier Friday once again finds Anna (Lohan) and her mom Tess (Curtis) swapping bodies. But this time, it’s not with each other—it’s with Anna’s daughter Harper (Julia Butters) and her soon-to-be stepdaughter, (Sophia Hammons). Harper and Lily don’t get along, and see this body swap as the perfect opportunity to break up their parents.

Where to watch the new Freaky Friday 2025 movie:

Right now, the only place to watch the 2025 Freakier Friday movie is in a movie theater, when the movie opens in theaters on Friday, August 8. You can find a showing at a movie theater near you via Fandango.

Is Freakier Friday streaming on Netflix?

The Freakier Friday movie is not streaming on Netflix, and most likely will never be streaming on Netflix. This is due to the fact that Freakier Friday is a Disney movie and will have a streaming home on the Disney-owned streamer, Disney+.

Disney+ offers a number of subscription options, so you can find the one that works for you. With ads, a subscription costs $9.99/month; without ads, it’s $15.99/month or $159.99/year.

There are also Disney+ bundles with Hulu, Max, and ESPN+, so you can subscribe to up to three services at once and save over 40% every month. The bundles are available in a few different configurations, starting at $10.99/month for Disney+ and Hulu with ads, and going up to $29.99/month for Disney+, Hulu, and Max ad-free.

Is the new Freakier Friday movie streaming on Disney Plus?

Freakier Friday 2025 is not yet streaming on Disney+. Right now, the movie is only playing in theaters. That said, we do expect to see Freakier Friday 2025 streaming on Disney+ eventually. While a Freakier Friday Disney+ release date has not yet been announced, we can make an educated guess as to when the movie will be streaming based on previous Disney releases.

Another recent Disney movie, Lilo and Stitch 2025 was released on premium video-on-demand about two months after opening in theaters, and will begin streaming on Disney+ on Sept 3, a little over three months after opening in theaters. If Freakier Friday follows a similar release strategy, you may see Freakier Friday on digital platforms around early October 2025, and streaming on Disney+ around mid-November 2025.

But this is all speculation. If you want to watch the new Freakier Friday movie ASAP, you can catch the movie in theaters. And in the meantime, you can watch the 2003 Freaky Friday movie streaming on Disney+.
