Inside Kim Kardashian’s private Rome dinner with North West that sparked corset debate

Kim Kardashian and North West were “polite and gracious” while dining at a revered restaurant in Rome, Italy, over the weekend — despite spurring online discourse about the 12-year-old’s outfit choice.

The mother-daughter duo, along with two of Kardashian’s close gal pals, dined on authentic Italian dishes in a private corner table at Pierluigi in the charming Piazza de’ Ricci last Saturday, an inside source exclusively tells Page Six.

We’re told patrons were “caught off guard” when flashes from paparazzi cameras started going off as Kardashian and her group arrived on the scene.

“[The paparazzi] had followed the van from their hotel to the restaurant, arriving first on scooters,” the insider said. “By the time the van doors opened, the paparazzi were already in place.”

We hear Kardashian and North “walked out under a storm of flashes” before entering the restaurant.

“Along with them was, of course, their team of personal security,” the source shared. “I was positively surprised by the simplicity of [Kim and North’s] requests, as well as the professionalism of their security team.”

Per our insider, the Skims founder, 44, asked for a “private, quiet table” after just having landed in the Eternal City.

“Dinner unfolded easily, with a warm atmosphere at the table and a tender, relaxed, mother-daughter relationship that extended naturally to their friends,” the source divulged.

We’re told Kardashian and North dined on traditional antipasto, including zucchini flowers, caprese salad, prosciutto and melon and tuna tartare, followed by four plates of paccheri pasta with fresh cherry tomatoes and basil.

The source noted that they drank only water and no wine.

“It was clear they were celebrating their Italian trip by diving into the culinary culture of our country,” the source said.

We hear guests were asking waiters if they could approach Kardashian’s table, but were turned down to allow the “Kardashians” star to eat with North in peace.

The Hulu star thanked the Pierluigi team before leaving and getting back into their van, only to be “chased by scooters and photographers” as they departed.

As Page Six previously reported, Kardashian wore a black slip dress with a sheer lace bra while North went with a black corset top, pleated miniskirt, platform boots and ombré teal pigtails.

Internet users immediately blasted Kardashian for allowing her daughter to wear a bustier.

“So inappropriate Kim,” one person wrote on social media, with another adding, “Not a fan of a bustier on a 12-year-old.”

However, others labeled the tween’s ensemble as “cute” and “age-appropriate.”

“It’s not 2002 babes, it’s 2025. Things are different now. Y’all are so f–king auntie,” one defender wrote on X.
