Inside Aryna Sabalenka’s champagne-soaked US Open celebrations
The bubbly was flowing from all angles Saturday inside Aryna Sabalenka’s locker room following her second straight U.S. Open triumph.
Shortly after defeating American Amanda Anisimova at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, 6-3, 7-6 (7), the Belarusian tennis star was showered with Moët & Chandon champagne by members of her team, a spirited celebration she savored and took part in.

“This setup was insane, guys, at least you took care of the locker room, you know?” Sabalenka, 27, said against tarp-covered lockers.
In footage of the lively scene, the world No. 1 — who topped American Jessica Pegula in last year’s U.S. Open final — clinked champagne bottles with her team and poured bubbly into her championship trophy.
Sabalenka defeated Pegula, 31, in Thursday’s semifinals to set up a Wimbledon rematch against New Jersey native Anisimova.
The 24-year-old stunningly upset Sabalenka in the semifinal at the All England Club this past July, when she advanced to her first-ever Grand Slam final. Poland’s Iga Swiatek went on to take the Wimbledon title.
“She came out, and she was playing great tennis from the start,” Anisimova said Saturday of Sabalenka. “She’s No. 1, and she’s very capable of playing amazing tennis, which she did today. I give all the credit to her.”
Sabalenka got the celebrations rolling in her post-win press conference, arriving at the podium with a champagne bottle in tow.
“I think because of the finals [losses] earlier this season, this one felt different. This one felt like I had to overcome a lot of things to get this one,” she said. “I knew that, [with] the hard work we put in, I deserved to have a Grand Slam title this season.”
The win marked Sabalenka’s fourth Grand Slam victory.
In addition to her 2024 U.S. Open win, she also took the 2023 and ’24 Australian Open crowns.
