The doc follows Clemente’s life and career on and off the baseball diamond, from growing up in Puerto Rico and early career struggles with the Pittsburgh Pirates to becoming one of baseball’s most beloved players. It will also explore Clemente’s legacy in the aftermath of his tragic 1972 death; Clemente died in a plane crash while en route to deliver aid packages to Nicaragua following an earthquake.

In addition to photos and footage of Clemente himself, all three of his sons — Roberto Clemente Jr., Luis Clemente, and Roberto Enrique Clemente — will be featured in the documentary. Puerto Rican actress Rita Moreno, sportscaster Bob Costas, musician Tom Morello, actor and lifelong Pirates fan Michael Keaton, and current New York Mets all-star Francisco Lindor will also appear in interviews.
