How Dak Prescott reacted to Cowboys’ Quinnen Williams trade
A fired-up Dak Prescott didn’t hold back Tuesday when asked about the Cowboys’ trade deadline shocker in acquiring defensive lineman Quinnen Williams from the Jets.
“I’m f–king pumped,” the 32-year-old quarterback told reporters after the 3-5-1 Cowboys sent a 2026 second-rounder, a 2027 first-rounder and defensive tackle Mazi Smith to New York for Williams, a former first-round pick.

In addition to Williams, 27, the Cowboys — currently second in the NFC East — traded for veteran Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson, who had previously voiced he wanted to be moved.

Cincinnati received a 2026 seventh-round pick from Dallas in exchange for Wilson, 29, who began his NFL career with the Bengals in 2020.
First-year coach Brian Schottenheimer, whose Micah Parsons-less defense has been at the center of criticism for much of the season, lauded owner Jerry Jones for delivering after teasing trade deadline moves.
“It’s exciting,” Schottenheimer said, according to the team’s official website. “Kudos to Jerry and [Cowboys EVP] Stephen [Jones], [Cowboys VP of Player Personnel] Will [McClay], being aggressive but then smart. A couple of moves we made, you’re getting guys not just for this year but beyond, which I think is great… I think it’s two terrific players, but also terrific young men.”

Despite many NFL pundits mocking the Cowboys in the wake of Tuesday’s moves — Bill Simmons called the trade for Williams “f–king bonkers,” for one — Cowboys defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa is excited to see what the ex-Jet can bring.
“I think it’s just going to add more playmaking ability to the d-line,” Odighizuwa said. “Another bullet in the gun. Another bullet in the gun, another very strong and talented guy, so I think we’ll be able to use him…”
Wilson and Williams will have some time to get acclimated to their new home in Dallas, with the Cowboys next returning to action on Nov. 17 against the Raiders after the bye week.

Williams, the Jets’ third overall pick in 2019, wasn’t the only member of Gang Green to be moved Tuesday. The 1-7 club shipped former first-round pick Sauce Gardner to the Colts (7-2) in exchange for two first-round picks and receiver AD Mitchell.
The Jets signed cornerback Gardner to a four-year, $120.4 million extension over the summer.
