Horrific video shows veteran matador viciously gored in Madrid bullfight

Horrifying video captured the shocking moment a bull drove its horn into a veteran matador’s leg in Spain — hurling him into the air as fellow bullfighters rushed in to distract the beast.

Serafín Marín, 42, had just completed a classic Verónica pass — sweeping his pink-and-yellow cape from side to side as the large animal ran by — at Las Ventas, the country’s largest bullring, on Sunday when the bull suddenly charged and launched him into the air with its right horn, local outlets reported.

The raging brute jerked the bullfighter twice before flinging him headfirst to the ground in front of over 8,000 shocked spectators and rushed at him once more, as fellow matadors stormed the ring with capes to lure the bull away, the footage shows.

Marín reportedly collapsed and was rushed to a Madrid hospital with an 11-inch gash in his leg — a gruesome wound he said he didn’t realize he suffered until waking up the next day.

“I didn’t realize I had been gored until I entered the infirmary, but I was very dazed and dizzy from the blow to the head,” Marín said from his hospital bed, Aplausos reported.

“It was tremendous. I was bleeding a lot.”

Sunday marked his first bullfight of the Spanish season.

The skilled matador said he had trained all year for the event and was “completely caught off guard” when the hulking black-and-white colored bull thundered toward him.

“The bull took the cape well, even galloping, which is why I was completely caught off guard and unable to react. He caught me in the third cape pass; when he reached me, he went for me,” Marín added, the outlet reported.

“I’ve been preparing for this day all year, and I feel a tremendous sense of helplessness. You see all the effort and sacrifice go down the drain in a second, and it’s all gone,” he continued.

“That’s what hurts the most, much more than the goring.”

Local outlets reported that the bull’s sharp horn tore upward through Marín’s right thigh.

Despite the severe injury, the experienced bullfighter is eager to return to the ring.

“I’ll have to wait another year so the fans can see that I still have a lot to say in bullfighting,” Marín assured.

Matador Manuel Maria Trindade, 22, was gored to death last month by a 1,500-pound bull in the Campo Pequeno bullring in Lisbon.
