Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says NYC will be a ‘train wreck’ under Zohran Mamdani
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem warned Wednesday that the Big Apple would be a “train wreck” if socialist Zohran Mamdani gets elected mayor.
Noem warned that the far-left candidate’s anti-ICE stance and support for sanctuary laws could endanger the work of immigration officials whom he has brazenly accused of abducting people off the streets.

“We’ve done so much work there, as ICE and officers and federal law enforcement officers, getting dangerous criminals off the streets of New York — literally hundreds and hundreds of them have been removed already in New York City because of President Trump’s leadership,” the DHS secretary told Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.”

“We need to continue to do that work and we need a mayor that will work with us and have our backs when we’re out there making sure we’re going after those individuals,” she continued.
“If he were elected, New York City would be a train wreck and those poor families would have nowhere to go for help.”
Mamdani laid into the Trump administration as he delivered a politically charged speech to the Greater Allen Cathedral of New York in Queens on Sunday, claiming the Big Apply and US were facing a “dark moment.”
“An authoritarian government in Washington, DC, is dispatching masked agents to abduct immigrants from our streets. That is not justice. It is cruelty, and it is criminal,” Mamdani told congregants.

Noem, for her part, said she struggled to understand how New Yorkers would feel reacting to Mamdani’s rhetoric.
“I can’t even imagine how the people of New York City feel listening to that, knowing that they that if he were elected as mayor of New York, that they would have to continue to live with the dangerous criminals that are on their streets terrorizing that city right now,” she said.
Mamdani, who has previously blasted ICE as a “rogue agency,” has vowed to prevent the feds from rounding up migrants if he’s elected.
Trump, meanwhile, has threatened to arrest Mamdani if he attempts to block ICE operations.
“[Trump’s] statements don’t just represent an attack on our democracy but an attempt to send a message to every New Yorker who refuses to hide in the shadows: If you speak up, they will come for you,” Mamdani said previously.
“We will not accept this intimidation.”
