When the former couple wed in 2021, Champ also became the stepfather to the reality star’s daughter Khari, 9, with rapper Fetty Wap.

Champ and Kalysha separated in 2023.

The actress alluded to her estranged partner’s passing in a tweet on Tuesday about receiving the “worse [sic] news of [her] life.”

In a tearful Instagram video, the “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” alum wrote that she was “in shambles” and asked outlets to “refrain from posting information.”

She explained, “Word spreads fast to children and although my kids aren’t on social media, a lot of their friends are, and a lot of, all their parents are. And I don’t want my kids to find out at school before I can tell them.”

Kalysha did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The singer and Champ became romantically involved in 2020, years after Kalysha’s split from Fetty Wap.

In 2024, Kalysha confirmed in a red carpet interview that she was “going through mediation with [her] soon-to-be ex-husband,” which had been a “vicious” process.
