Holger Rune tried sliding into my DMs ’10 times’

Russian tennis star Anna Kalinskaya couldn’t help but laugh as she claimed she ignored 10 messages from Denmark’s Holger Rune.

During an interview with the First&Red channel on Tuesday, Kalinskaya claimed that Rune was one of “a couple” tennis players she ignored advances from because he “thinks too much of himself.”

“Tennis players — more often before,” Kalinskaya, 26, who previously dated Italy’s Jannik Sinner, said of players asking her on dates. “Now I’m older. I don’t know, for some, it’s just no chance at all. No need to write. Someone wrote like 10 times and then gave up.

“I’ll say it now, but Holger Rune. He writes to everyone. He deserves all this. Thinks too much of himself. But he’s not the only one. A couple [more].”

The World No. 11 Rune replied to the interview clip — which had one million views on Tuesday — saying Kalinskaya took things out of context.

“Ha ha ha. We might have cultural differences that make Anna read a comment on a story as an invitation to a date,” Rune, 22, wrote, adding a winking emoji. “If I want to go on a date, I ask for a date . Don’t worry.”

Sinner, runner-up to the 2025 U.S. Open champion Carlos Alvaraz, confirmed his split from Kalinskaya during a press conference at the Italian Open in May.

This isn’t the first time Rune had been accused of sliding in a fellow player’s DMs.

Last month, Russia’s Veronika Kudermetova said she shut down a text from Rune.

“Rune recently texted me,” Kudermetova, 28, said, according to U.K. outlet Express. “I told him, ‘Boy, I’m probably too old for you. If you looked at my Instagram, you’d see I have a husband.’ He replied, ‘Oh, sorry.’ Since then, he doesn’t even say hello to me anymore.”

Kudermetova has been married to her coach, Sergey Demekhine, since 2017.
