“I told Alec before I met her, I said, ‘If she doesn’t like me, I’m not gonna stay because I can’t hurt a family,’ ” Baldwin confessed while on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast on Tuesday. “And he gets mad. He’s all mad at me then. He gets mad at me when I say it now.”

Fortunately the family dynamic worked out, with the pair tying the knot in 2012.

The couple has since welcomed seven kids: Carmen, 12, Rafael, 10, Leonardo, 9, Romeo, 7, Eduardo, 5, María, 4, and Ilaria, 2.

Baldwin added that the “family unit is the most important thing.”

“Always be respectful about her mom,” Baldwin continued about Ireland’s mom and Alec’s ex-wife, Kim Basinger. “Always understand that it’s Alec, Ireland and Kim. And I can come in and be a guest. And if I’m welcomed in, wonderful, I’m there. But I have to be strong enough on my own and not come in and, you know, mark my territory and all that kind of stuff.”

Hilaria and Ireland, 29, have also maintained a tight-knit bond over the years.

“Ireland has really seen me, and Ireland has seen how much I care about her dad and her family and her,” the yoga instructor told host Amanda Hirsch. “And we’ve been so blessed to have a wonderful relationship. And that’s not just being blessed and lucky. It’s also, you know, walking that line of being a stepmom, you know, and coming into her life when she’s 15, 16 years old. And I was just always very clear that I’m there to be supportive when she needs me.”

Baldwin noted that the model was “extraordinarily welcoming” of her “right at the beginning.”

“I was very prepared to have it be, you know, we have had a great few months together and I’m gonna go,” she said of the having to possibly end things with Alec.

But the family unit is more than in tact, with Ireland taking to social media to gush over her step-mom last month.

“I wanted to take a second to talk about my step mom @hilariabaldwin. I think if people actually knew her the way I do, they would be quite surprised,” she penned. “Hilaria has had a far more complex and chaotic upbringing than she lets on and I think that’s why we’ve maybe bonded in someways? She didn’t always feel safe and seen. Sometimes, she is too loyal to a fault. She is eccentric and totally bat sh-t crazy (in a fun way) but she saved my dad’s life. She turned his health around and has shown him the forgiveness and kindness that he needed. She also recognizes and nourishes the parts of my father that are the most compassionate and wonderful.”

Ireland also credited her stepmother for being the reason she now has her own “close relationship” with her dad.

“She is the reason I get to have siblings/a big family that I’ve always wanted,” revealed the mom of one.

Baldwin took to the comments section, sweetly writing, “I’m crying. I love you with all my heart, @irelandirelandireland ❤️. These words mean so much. You mean so much to me 💙.”

That same month, the “Dancing With The Stars” contestant revealed that fans will certainly get to see her stepdaughter in the audience at some point during this season.

“We’re a very busy family,” Baldwin told The Post after week two. “The Baldwins are really close. I’m excited because Ireland is going to come out and as you’ve seen from her post, she and I are very, very, very close.”

“I know that I’m her stepmom, but she’s like my dance mom,” admitted the New Yorker. “So she’s sending me …. notes. She’s sending me things every single day and I just feel very lucky to be pulled into this huge family that is very close. I am very grateful.”

Alec himself has been a staunch supporter of his wife.

“He’s so supportive of this whole thing,” Baldwin gushed.

Despite the Hollywood titan having been in the spotlight for decades, Hilaria hopes the public can start to jive with who she is as a person, wife and mom.

“So many times somebody [has] said as we got off [the stage], like, ‘Don’t worry a little bit longer and people will be able to see you.’ And you know, I’ve heard that in so many things. And I feel like the past 15 years I’ve been tap dancing in all different ways and all different rhythms and just being like, ‘Do you see me yet? Do you see me yet? Do you see me yet?’”

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
