The price tag of the deal is a new intra-league record for the NWSL, which had previously been set in August when the Kansas City Current sent USWNT forward Ally Sentnor to Utah for $600,000.

Gotham is planning on signing Shaw through the 2029 season, according to ESPN, and they acquired her with the team sitting in sixth place and having seven matches left on their schedule.
