Gordon Ramsay Reveals Skin Cancer Diagnosis, Urges Fans: “Please Don’t Forget Your Sunscreen”

Gordon Ramsay is opening up about a personal health scare.
The Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef host revealed Saturday on Instagram that he was diagnosed with skin cancer, which he recently had removed.

The 58-year-old celebrity chef posted photos showing a bandage across his face and neck, as well as a line of stitches running from his earlobe to the top of his neck.
“Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma thank you!” Ramsay wrote in his caption. “Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend.”
Never one to miss a punchline, Ramsay joked with followers that the procedure wasn’t cosmetic. “I’d need a refund,” he quipped.
The post quickly drew support, including a heartfelt “love you dad” from his daughter Holly Ramsay. Cancer Research UK also chimed in, applauding the Michelin-starred chef for using his platform to remind fans about the importance of sun safety.
According to the Mayo Clinic, basal cell carcinoma is a common type of skin cancer linked to sun exposure. It most often appears on the head and neck and can resemble a transparent bump or lesion.
Ramsay, who currently fronts Fox’s Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service, continues to oversee his global restaurant empire of more than 80 locations, including 20 across the U.S.
