Ghost-gun arsenal uncovered in NYC home stacked with sketchy 3D-printed parts: DA

A 22-year-old Queens man kept a cache of homemade ghost guns and 100 rounds of ammunition stashed inside his Rosedale home, prosecutors said Thursday.

Lianu Luis Brown Delgado was hit with a 51-count indictment for his lethal arsenal, which included seven completed ghost guns, a .380-caliber Ruger, eight 3D-printed Glock style frames, and dozens of rounds of ammunition, the Queens District Attorney’s Office said.

“As alleged, the defendant amassed a significant collection of ghost guns and 3D-printed weapon parts in his Queens home, placing countless lives in danger,” Queens DA Melinda Katz said in a statement.

Queens prosecutors said Lianu Luis Brown Delgado, 22, had more than a half dozen illegal ghost guns in his home.

“Those who choose to personally manufacture deadly firearms should find other, lawful ways to spend their time,” Katz said. “Working alongside our partners in the NYPD, we will continue to investigate and prosecute the illegal production of these untraceable weapons to protect the safety of our communities.”

Ghost guns are untraceable weapons that can be assembled by using parts from a 3D printer — which pose a particular hazard for law enforcement because these guns are impossible to keep tabs on.

Delgado’s arrest followed a search of his home on Wednesday, the result of a seven-month investigation into illegal gun production, including ghost guns.

He was hit with multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal sale of a firearm, unlawful possession of pistol or revolver ammunition, and related charges, prosecutors said.

He was ordered held without bail pending a return court appearance on Nov. 10.

Delgado’s arrest is the latest attempt by authorities in the New York metro area to crack down on the dangerous guns, including the arrest in July of the reputed Long Island ghost gun kingpin.

Daniel Probeck, 35, was charged with possession of 110 guns, nearly 70 suppressors, 12 3D printers and a cache of gun parts when Suffolk County cops raided his home after an investigation there.

The case is still pending.
