Of course, Amazon is known for great year-round sales but deals on subscription programs like Kindle Unlimited don’t come around too often and you’ll usually have to wait for an event like Prime Day to take advantage of one.
Right now, Amazon Prime members can get three months of Kindle Unlimited for free. The subscription is normally priced at $11.99/month, so this is a pretty sweet deal if you ask us, and it comes just in time for all of the summer reading you can do on your waterproof Kindle.

Most Prime Day deals, including the Audible deal and this Kindle Unlimited offer, are only for Amazon Prime subscribers. If you aren’t one already, you’ll need to be anyway to shop the rest of the sales, and who can resist a free trial? The 30-day trial will take you through Prime Day. A Prime membership costs $14.99/month or $139/year, and in addition to access to exclusive deals, you’ll gain access to free books on Prime Reading, the Prime Video streaming service, and so much more.
Plus, if you’re between the ages 18-24 or enrolled in a two-year or four-year college, you qualify Prime Student/Prime for Young Adults membership, which is just $7.49/month after an initial six-month period at $0.00/month.

Kindle Unlimited is a subscription-based service by Amazon that gives readers access to over 4 million e-book titles for one low monthly price. If you read just two KU books a month, the subscription pays for itself.
Not unlike a library, subscribers can borrow up to 20 books at a time. There’s also access to select audiobooks and popular magazines.
Kindle Unlimited’s catalog changes often, and once you borrow a book, it stays in your library until you return it — even if that book is no longer available to borrow on Kindle Unlimited. We recommend borrowing books as soon as you see them, even if you don’t plan on reading them right away, because you never know when they might disappear from the service.
Kindle Unlimited’s library is made up of over four million titles, per Amazon, and we’ve found that there seems to be a particular emphasis on romance novels and thrillers.
Will Kindles be on sale for Prime Day?
While it’s too early to know for sure if Amazon Kindles will be included in Prime Day deals, the e-readers are typically included in the sales event’s markdowns.
What books are included in Kindle Unlimited?
Here are just a few of the books you can read for free with Kindle Unlimited.
