Gavin Newsom lies about lying, Zohran Mamdani invents a ‘mandate’ and more

Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions
This claim:
“There is nothing I dislike more than the politician that . . . lies to you.” — California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sunday
We say: Ha! Were that so, Newsom would hate himself most of all. In fact, he loves himself, despite (or maybe because of?) his false claims that people haven’t fled California, his state has no crime problem and so on.

He even recently painted his childhood as financially troubled, though his dad was a successful, well-connected lawyer.
Indeed, Newsom seems to see lying as a go-to-strategy — at least, if you’re Gavin Newsom.
This ‘mandate’:
“I’m also looking to be clear about the mandate that we won.” — Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, Tuesday
We say: Votes for Mamdani exceeded those against him by just 0.8%: With 93% of ballots counted, he had 1,036,051 votes (50.4%), versus 1,019,870 (49.6%) in total for Andrew Cuomo, Curtis Sliwa and other candidates.
That’s just 16,181 votes out of 2 million-plus. Some “mandate.”
This tweet:
We say: Sizable impact? At most, our furry friends account for a mere 1.3% of America’s CO2 output.
Yet the AP (a supposedly impartial news outlet that takes fat donations from climate activists to fund “reporting” like this) now wants Americans to shrink their pets (or lose them completely).
First they came for our gas stoves. Then our plastic straws, gas-powered cars and grocery bags. Now our dogs and cats! Are we next?
This denial:
We say: Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani refuses to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifadah,” widely understood to mean “attack Jews worldwide.”
He opposes the existence of the world’s only Jewish state, Israel, and falsely accused it of genocide.
He’s blasted the state Assembly as a “bastion of Zionist thought.”
And he’s threatened to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes he hasn’t committed but not to arrest leaders who actually have committed war crimes.
And Rolling Stone sees no antisemitism here?
