The show features guests talking “candidly about what it means to be a man today.” Couldn’t be a better topic for the actor who created “Jere” — the sometimes sensitive, sometimes rageful bisexual younger Fisher brother who got left at the alter by Belly Conklin, only to find himself in the aftermath.
“Vulnerability in men is something I really advocate for — especially among my friends,” Casalegno, 26, told Breslin. “I’m always encouraging people to open up.”
“It starts by leading through example,” the star added, “because vulnerability is often a trust issue. When you say, ‘Here’s my heart, here’s what I’m feeling,’ it gives others permission to do the same. Suddenly, they’re saying, ‘I’m struggling with that too.’ That’s where real connection and stronger relationships come from.”
The “TSITP” star also told Breslin: “There’s a quote I love and try to live by… ‘to love something at all is to be vulnerable.’ When you’re not vulnerable, you start building walls — and eventually, you end up trapped inside them, unable to let anyone in. You don’t become unbreakable… you just become hard. Your heart becomes hard.”
The podcast has previously hosted guests including influencer Jake Shane, entrepreneur Rich Kleiman, chef Eric Ripert and current “Dancing With the Stars” contestant Dylan Efron. It’s recorded at Newsstand Studios in Rockefeller Center.
Casalegno even recounted an emo anecdote about his clothing line, Kai Lo, in the podcast talk.
“From the start, I wanted Kai Lo to carry positive messaging and mindfulness — something with real purpose behind it,” he told Breslin. “Once in New York, I was wearing a hoodie that said, ‘Your anxiety is lying to you.’ An older man in a suit stopped me on the F train, said he liked my hoodie, and then started to cry. I stayed and talked with him, just listened. It was a reminder of how powerful vulnerability can be, especially for men. That moment showed me how something as simple as a message on a shirt can spark connection. That’s what Kai Lo is about — creating more of those real, human moments.”
Off-screen, Casalegno married his wife, Cheyanne Casalegno, in 2024.
