A French cyclist who plummeted down a 130-feet ravine survived in the wilderness for three days by drinking red wine, reports said.

The 77-year-old’s “pour” decision came after he made a trip to his local grocery store in the Cévennes region of France, according to the French news outlet Entrevue.

After purchasing the bottles of red, the elderly biker hit the road to return home but missed a bend in the mountainous area that sent him tumbling down a rocky cliff close to Saint-Julien-des-Points, located about 50 miles from Montpellier.

The tumble landed the man along the banks of the Gardon River. Unable to climb out, the man shouted at every car he heard pass by.

Hours turned to days, and the trapped man sustained himself with a little food and the wine bottles — which he somehow managed to get open in the wild.

Passing roadworkers finally heard his cries for help and spotted his mangled bike at the bottom of the ravine and came to his rescue.

The biker was airlifted on a helicopter to a local hospital. He had minor injuries and mild hypothermia but is expected to make a full recovery.

Rescue doctor Laurent Savath called the man, “really tough,” and his survival, “a miracle…given the cold and the rain, with almost nothing to eat or drink.”

The French pedaler isn’t the first to survive off of the vino. In 2023, a woman sustained herself for five days in the Australian bushland on nothing but a bottle of wine and lollipops after making a wrong turn.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
