Florida State’s Squirrel White doing OK after getting swarmed by Virginia fans

Florida State wideout Squirrel White is OK after being in a vulnerable position during the field storming at Scott Stadium on Friday night.

White, the targeted receiver on the game-ending interception that sealed Virginia’s upset win over No. 8 Florida State, was immediately swallowed up by the crowd, which was not held back by any barrier and thus could get onto the field instantly after the game went final.

That led to some concerns about the receiver’s health. Those, however, proved unfounded.

On3’s Pete Nakos reported that White made it to the locker room and was perfectly fine.

He was also spotted up and walking amid the on-field chaos.

The double-overtime 46-38 win was an instant classic and marked one of the best moments Virginia football has produced in recent years.

The field storm, though, immediately became a bigger story than the game itself as the scenes from Charlottesville drew concern over how quickly fans swarmed the field.

Virginia, a first-time offender of the ACC’s field-storming rules, will owe $50,000 to the Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford Postgraduate scholarship.

That’s a fine the school will likely be thrilled to pay after the win brought them to 4-1, just one win off their total a year ago.

The Cavaliers last had a winning season in 2019, though they appeared in a bowl game in 2021.

Quarterback Chandler Morris had a terrific night, scoring five total touchdowns, including a game-winning four-yard run in the second overtime, followed by a two-point conversion.

The defense then stopped the Seminoles, intercepting Thomas Castellanos on fourth-and-12 to win the game and set off a party in Charlottesville.

Florida State dropped to 3-1 and will presumably see its ranking drop on Monday.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
