Exclusive | Michael Feinstein has sold his California home for $3.7M

Cabaret legend and music preservationist Michael Feinstein just sold his West Hollywood, California home for $3.7 million, Gimme Shelter can reveal.
That’s almost $1 million more than the $2.72 million that Feinstein and his husband, Terrence Flannery, paid for the home in September 2024.

But the flip wasn’t all profit. Feinstein and Flannery also renovated the residence — for an undisclosed amount — before they put it back on the market for $4.49 million in September.
The initial plan was to live in the home, at 1348 Miller Drive. But they needed more space to fill their entertaining needs.
“We love the house, its spectacular views and made it a home people cherish,” Feinstein told Gimme Shelter at the time.
The four-bedroom, four-bath dwelling comes with stunning city views. A comfortable and spacious 3,623 square feet, it sits on a sliver of 0.12 acres above Sunset Boulevard.
“I’m so happy to have represented Michael Feinstein and Terrence Flannery in the sale of their home on Miller Drive,” said Idan Gould, of Douglas Elliman, who was also the listing broker. “Their renovation is absolutely stunning and I truly believe anyone can achieve great results with the right strategy in every market.”
The home, Gould said, “has great bones. But it needed work. We made a lot of choices when it came to the renovation to make it right.”
That included changing the layout, creating a den out of a hallway and a wet bar out of a former maid’s room.
The home opens to a foyer, with hardwood floors and natural light, that leads to a large, step-down living room anchored by a fireplace.
There’s also a dining room, a wet bar and a lounge with a TV, along with a chef’s kitchen that opens to the garden.
Upstairs, a main bedroom suite comes with a fireplace, and double walk-in closets and spa-like baths. There’s also a media room, plus two guest rooms.
Downstairs, there’s a gym, a laundry room and plenty of storage space.
The couple also own homes on Central Park South, as well as a Carmel, Indiana property near the Great American Songbook Foundation.
Early in his career, Feinstein got his start as Ira Gershwin’s assistant.
The Great American Songbook refers to American classics from the first half of the 20th century, including George and Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter — and the legacy continues to evolve, Feinstein has said.
