Exclusive | Boca Raton mansion with ties to Oprah asks $27.7M

Oprah Winfrey once enjoyed visiting this Boca Raton waterfront mansion when it was owned — and commissioned — by the late American media heiress Diana King, whose father Charles King syndicated hits like “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” along with “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune,” brokers say.
Now the home’s current owners, aviation services honcho Sal Calvino, founder of Equivu Capital — and his wife, Karen Calvino — are flying high on surging local property prices.

The Calvinos have listed the 12,000-square-foot spread at 2989 Spanish River Rd. in the Estate Section for $27.5 million — after buying it for $7 million in 2020, the year that Calvino founded Equivu.
King purchased the property in 2003, a year after CBS bought her father’s company, King World Productions, where she had worked since 1972.
The home has been extensively renovated since then and is in “turn-key” condition, according to the listing — from brokers Nicholas Gonzalez and Matthew John Moser, of Serhant.
The gated estate, which sits on .69 acres, was built in 2002. It features six bedrooms, nine baths, four powder rooms — and 200 feet of prime waterfront.
The Calvinos had previously listed the home for $24.9 million in 2023, then dropped the ask to $19.5 million in 2024. But prices have soared since then.
The home is anchored by a large, open chef’s kitchen with an eat-in nook and a six-person breakfast bar.
There’s also a home office with a lounge area and Intracoastal views, along with plenty of indoor/outdoor entertaining space.
Design details include vaulted ceilings, French doors, a skylight and hardwood floors.
There’s also a dramatic, double-height “club room” that connects the main house to a two-bedroom guest house with its own chef’s kitchen, living room, private entrance and garage.
Outside, the landscaped grounds include mature trees, and a Zen garden with sculptural rocks — as well as a pool with a spa and a fountain.
There’s also a dock and a 24,000-pound boat lift, plus a five-car garage.
