“All I’m gonna say is strap in,” Laviscount told People. “Because it goes left, so far left, and a little bit right this season.”

The “Time Next Year” alum joined the romantic comedy drama in season 2 as Emily’s (Lily Collins) love interest, Alfie.

In classic rom-com fashion, Emily was already involved with her neighbor, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo).

Now that Alfie and Emily’s romantic relationship fizzled out, she’s starting a new chapter in Rome with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini).

However, there will be no shortage of drama for these players.

“I didn’t know what to expect — none of us do before we get the scripts — and we got the scripts for this season and it’s… Yeah, I don’t think anyone could have foreseen that coming,” Laviscount shared.

The show, which also features Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Paul Forman and William Abadie, shot the upcoming season in May.

Laviscount called the experience “amazing” per usual.

“It’s good to be back — to be back in Paris,” he gushed. “We shot quite a little bit in Rome as well.”

In real life, the cast has also grown closer since the series first aired in 2020.

“Lily’s a mom now,” Laviscount continued. “Everyone’s kind of fighting through life and in new relationships and new friendships and everything like that. So it’s been great to kind of get back in on set with everyone and see where everyone’s there.”

The British star also reflected on what it meant to play Alfie for the past four seasons.

“I think Alfie kind of always speaks his truth, which I’d like to say is a trait of mine. In the most difficult situations, he speaks the truth. I like to say I’m pretty similar in that respect,” Laviscount revealed. “I love playing Alfie. Alfie’s been an amazing part of my life now. It’s been cool.”

However, during the last leg of shooting, a tragedy occurred on set.

While filming in August, an assistant director on the show suddenly passed away.

The series was shooting in Venice at the Hotel Danieli when Diego Borella, 47, reportedly collapsed in front of the crew.

Per La Repubblica, medics were unable to save him after showing up around 7 p.m. on August 21. The outlet states Borella suffered a heart attack.

At the time, “Emily in Paris” was filming the final scene of Season 5.

Days before Borella’s death, Collins, 36, posted some sweet behind-the-scenes pictures from shooting.

“Joy ride to and from work with the best…,” she captioned the pictures that included an image of Park, 34.

The fan-favorite series, created by Darren Star, follows Emily, an American marketing executive navigating her life in Paris.

However, new episodes will have the fashionista relocating from the French capital to Italy. The upcoming episodes will be set in both Rome and Venice.

“It was so great to go from Paris to Rome because you’re still in Europe and you’re still feeling that romance and passion of Europe, but you’re getting to experience a different part of history which was really fun,” Collins, 36, told the Hollywood Reporter at last year’s premiere.

Meanwhile, in October, Bravo, 37, hinted that he wasn’t sold on coming back to “Emily in Paris.”

According to the Times, the actor said in an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro, that he was feeling finished with the show because “Life is short. It takes five months to shoot this series. Do I want to sacrifice them by telling something that does not stimulate me?”

Bravo also told the Hollywood Reporter that he was hoping his character, Gabriel, would grow in Season 5.

“He made a few choices that made me kind of grow away from him,” admitted the star. “We were very much alike in Season 1, but now, I don’t really know. I think I feel like he needs to get his s–t together.”
