“We are aware of an altercation that occurred yesterday evening between two residents,” a spokesperson for Conifer LLC., the management company that oversees Belmont Vistas, said in a statement.

“This was an isolated incident between individuals — the safety and well-being of our residents remain our top priority.”
The victim was hospitalized but is expected to make a full recovery.
Schuman was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries in the hospital, officials said.
The flare-firing septuagenarian was set to be arraigned in court Tuesday.
Police did not disclose what sparked the dispute, or why Schuman may have had a flare gun on hand.

The Belmont Vistas community is marketed as a quiet, gated apartment complex for residents 55 years and older.
“Sometimes [the police] come because it’s a community for older people, but I’ve never thought it was that,” resident Liliana Manrique told local outlet News 12.
