Eagles security boss Big Dom fined $75K for texting violation vs. Jets

Dom DiSandro, the Eagles’ head of security, was fined $75,000 for texting from Philadelphia’s bench area during their Aug. 22 preseason game against the Jets, according to multiple reports.

The Eagles appealed and claimed that DiSandro — who’s known as “Big Dom” and is officially listed as the senior advisor to the general manager/chief security officer/gameday coaching operations — only had one foot in the bench area, but that was still enough to keep the fine, NFL Network reported Sunday.

That game, which marked the final tune-up for both teams ahead of the regular season, was filled with backups and players fighting for roster spots, as the stars for both teams — including the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and A.J. Brown — didn’t play in Philadelphia’s 19-17 win.

DiSandro became a popular member of the Eagles’ staff after going viral in 2023 for a sideline altercation with then-49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw.

Both were ejected from the Dec. 3, 2023, game, and DiSandro was banned from the sidelines for the rest of the season before being allowed to return at the start of the 2024 playoffs.

DiSandro, who joined the Eagles in 1999, is in his 27th season with the franchise.

“Nobody does their job better in the National Football League than Big Dom does his,” head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters in February on Super Bowl media day, according to Sports Illustrated. “He’s awesome. He truly just wants to help other people. That’s just an unbelievable quality to have that makes him special.

“You can hear it from all of our players of what they think about Dom. We all love him. He just is trying to help. He is the definition of team, and helping each other. I couldn’t do my job without Dom. That’s for sure.”

The Eagles opened their Super Bowl defense with consecutive wins over the Cowboys and Chiefs.

They trailed the Rams in the fourth quarter, 26-21, on Sunday.
