Drew Brees to make Fox debut after Mark Sanchez firing

Future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees will make his Fox debut on Sunday, calling the Giants vs. Packers game at MetLife Stadium.

Brees will fill Mark Sanchez’s seat in Fox’s No. 3 booth after the former Jets quarterback was fired by the network following his high-profile arrest for an altercation with a 69-year-old truck driver, at The Westin Indianapolis hotel on Oct. 4, during which he was stabbed.

Fox announced the hiring of Brees on Friday, saying the former Super Bowl champ would make his debut in Week 11.

Before that, the 46-year-old Brees was a weekly contributor on ESPN, specifically making remote appearances on “First Take” in since September.

Brees also has been a frequent guest on FS1’s “The Herd” and had a guest stint on Fox’s NFL pregame shows, “Fox NFL Kickoff” and “Fox NFL Sunday” earlier in the 2025 season.

Sanchez, 38, has not publicly addressed his Fox firing.

Sanchez pleaded not guilty to all charges — including level 5 felony battery resulting in serious bodily injury charge and three misdemeanor charges, battery resulting in injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle — over the Indianapolis incident.

He was in Indianapolis ahead of the Colts-Raiders game in Week 5 on Fox.

Sanchez has a pretrial hearing taking place in December, and his jury trial set for Dec. 11, according to court documents, which state Sanchez can attend remotely.

“Right now, I’m just focused on the recovery,” Sanchez told a CBS4 Indy reporter as he was leaving the Marion County Jail on Oct. 12. “And I just wanted to thank the first responders, Eskenazi Hospital. . . . I just want to thank Dr. [Lindsey] Mossler, the surgeon. She saved my life, so I’m grateful for that. Sorry I can’t answer all your questions.”
