Don Jr. eggs on ‘The View’ host Alyssa Farah Griffin over MAGA hat-hostage promise
Donald Trump Jr. is urging “The View” host Alyssa Farah Griffin to stick to her promise to wear a MAGA hat on the show if President Trump arranged a deal to free the Israeli hostages.
The president’s eldest son on Monday posted a video of Griffin waging the bet on the ABC morning show earlier this year, writing: “Sending this to the top. Let’s go.”

His post quickly racked up 3.5 million views and over 172,000 likes – as well as several responses from other social media users who appeared to use artificial intelligence to superimpose red MAGA hats on Griffin and her lefty co-hosts.
Reps for ABC didn’t immediately respond to a Post request for comment.
Hamas released all 20 remaining living hostages on Monday after holding them captive for over two years, part of a historic ceasefire deal that Trump brokered between Israel and the terrorist group.
Last December, Griffin said on “The View:” “If [Trump] does good, if he gets the Israeli hostages out, I promise I will wear a MAGA hat for one day on this show and say thank you for doing it.”
Sunny Hostin, a left-leaning legal analyst and co-host of “The View,” jumped in: “Please don’t do that.”
“She’ll knock it right off my head,” Griffin said with a laugh, referring to Hostin. “You have to be able to cheer for wins when they happen and then call out relentlessly the wrongdoing.”
Griffin served as the White House director of strategic communications and assistant to the president in 2020, during Trump’s first term.
She is one of the few conservative voices on ABC’s “The View,” alongside co-hosts Hostin, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines and Ana Navarro.
During Monday’s episode of “The View,” Griffin praised her former boss’ involvement in the Gaza ceasefire deal – though she didn’t mention any plans to don a red cap.
“If this peace deal holds, which I pray that it does, it’s historic, it is a massive diplomatic achievement and I think the whole world can breathe a sigh of relief,” she said.
“Whether you like Trump or not, I think he, Steve Witkoff, and I think Jared Kushner do deserve credit for this deal. They personally met with Hamas,” she continued.
“I used to be of the mind we don’t negotiate with terrorists, but sometimes the only way to get peace is to sit down with some of the most evil people and try to come up with what we can do to end the bloodshed.”
