Dolly Parton’s sister says she was ‘up all night praying’ for ill country superstar in alarming post
Dolly Parton’s sister Freida is asking for prayers for the country music icon amid the singer’s string of health issues.
“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately,” Freida wrote via Facebook alongside a photo of Dolly on Tuesday.

“I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”
Freida continued, “She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”
Fans quickly flooded the alarming post’s comments section, expressing concern and sharing prayers for the ill musician.
“This is stressing me out now,” someone wrote. “Get well soon Dolly!!!”
“This is concerning. Praying for Dolly and your family,” another added.
“Sending prayers for Dolly,” said another Facebook user, noting how the 10-time Grammy winner lost her longtime husband, Carl Dean, in March and the “very hard” toll it takes on the body.
“You go about your day but there’s a sadness in your heart that brings you down,” they continued.
A rep for Dolly did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on the singer’s health.
Freida’s post comes shortly after the “Jolene” songstress postponed her Las Vegas residency by nearly a year on Sept. 28 to focus on her health after doctors told her she would need to undergo several procedures.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,” Dolly, 79, wrote in her statement at the time.
“As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon! In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see.”
However, the “9 to 5” star added that she would “still be able to work on all of my projects” from her home in Nashville, Tenn., and assured her fans that she’s not “quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”
On Sept. 17, Dolly skipped out on her Dollywood appearance while she was recovering from a kidney stone that had developed into a bigger health issue.
“Turns out there was an infection, and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling around this minute, so you need a few days to get better,’” she said in a video explaining her absence. “So he suggested I not go to Dollywood today.”
The singer was originally scheduled to appear to announce the addition of a new ride at her theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
Dolly previously announced she would be taking a break from her music projects in July following Dean’s death.
