‘Doctor Who’ Is Leaving This Streaming Service At The End Of July 2025

Doctor Who just became even more difficult to stream than it already was.

HBO Max announced Doctor Who will be leaving the streamer at the end of July 2025, along with the Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood, as well. This means that decades of the long-running BBC series will no longer be available to viewers with no signs pointing to where the show could end up next. The reboot featured Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor, before Ncuti Gatwa took over in Season 14 on Disney+.

At the moment, the entire library of Doctor Who is split up across three different streaming services in America. Removing the show’s most pivotal years from HBO Max will only make it harder for fans to tune in. However, there is a chance that the early seasons of the reboot will end up on Disney+.

This news comes just as the future of Doctor Who remains in the balance. It remains unclear what will happen to Doctor Who over on Disney+. Season 15 ended with a shocking twist that showed Gatwa regenerate into Billie Piper, teasing a new era for the Doctor. But the show has not been renewed yet, and one Doctor Who insider said it may be some time before a new season gets announced, per IGN.

How to watch Doctor Who:

Doctor Who is available to stream separately across three different streaming platforms. The early seasons are available to stream on Tubi, while Seasons 1 to 13 of the reboot are available to stream on HBO Max. Seasons 14 and 15 are still available to stream on Disney+.

If you’re new to Max, you can sign up for as low as $9.99/month with ads, but an ad-free subscription will cost $16.99/month.

If you want to stream even more and save a few bucks a month while you’re at it, we recommend subscribing to one of the discounted Disney+ Bundles with Hulu and Max. With ads, the bundle costs $16.99/month and without ads, $29.99/month.

It remains to be seen where the Doctor Who reboot will be streaming next.

For now, it looks like Doctor Who fans will just have to catch up on the older seasons as we wait for updates on what’s next for the Doctor.
