Disney ‘Star Wars’ video game goes live on Las Vegas Sphere

The Las Vegas skyline went full Jedi as Disney and Lucasfilm joined forces with Lego to transform the Sphere into an interactive Star Wars video game for Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026.
The massive exosphere encasing the Sphere featured a towering Lego Death Star, blasting beams of light and Star Wars action into the desert night sky.

Fans and VIPs sat in a life-sized Lego X-Wing cockpit outside the venue, where a live game — centered on the classic X-Wing and TIE Fighter Death Star duel from the original 1977 film — was projected onto the Sphere in real time across the 366-foot screen.
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, a die-hard Star Wars fan, was among those suiting up to take on the simulated trench run, saying the experience made him feel “like a kid again.”
The spectacle was created by Sphere Studios in collaboration with Lego and Disney for the worldwide debut of Lego SMART Play System, a tech-powered platform that blends hands-on Lego building with dynamic digital interactivity.
“I think this is going to get people excited, both about Lego as a product launch, as well as about Sphere and the capabilities that we’re doing and unveiling for the first time with Star Wars and Lego,” Marcus Ellington, executive VP of ad sales and sponsorships for Sphere, told The Hollywood Reporter.
“At its core, Lego Smart Play champions curiosity, imagination, and pushing boundaries. These are values that Sphere embodies as well, albeit at a very different scale,” added Mike Ilacqua, head of product for Lego Star Wars at the Lego Group.
Disney and Lucasfilm leaders called Star Wars a perfect launch partner for their landmark deal. The event took place during CES, the biggest annual convention in Las Vegas, where tech, entertainment and consumer product companies showcase their latest products.
It was one of the most talked-about CES stunts, cutting through a week usually dominated by robots, AI demos, and gadgets no one is likely to remember a month later.
