In Springfield’s Instagram post shared Saturday, the duo flexed their muscles while smiling for the camera. Van Dyke sat at the biceps curl station while holding his cane in one of his hands.
“Filming an episode of Men’s Health and I went to the gym and who should be there but 99 year-old Dick Van Dyke working out on every machine,” Springfield wrote in his caption.
“Dick has lived in Malibu for about 30 years and is an awesome human being,” the “Jessie’s Girl” singer added. “I thought I was doing well at 76, but Dick got up from the chest press machine and did a little dance step before I left! ❤️ Amazing!”
In the comments, fans praised Van Dyke for his exercise regimen.
“He is so amazing. What a great photo,” one fan wrote.
“99?!!!! Oh wow!! Zest for life.. gotta grab it and keep it,” another fan said.
“Two living legends showing us what true strength looks like. Proof that passion, health, and joy keep you timeless. Truly inspiring!” a third person wrote.
Van Dyke previously revealed the secret to his health on Ted Danson’s podcast, “Where Everybody Knows Your Name” in January.
“Somebody said, ‘To what do you attribute your age and physical condition?’ I’ve always exercised three days a week,” he shared. “We go to the gym still, and I think that’s why I’m not stove up like my equals.”
Danson, 77, said on the podcast that he’d often see the “Mary Poppins” actor at the gym.
“I would go to the same gym you did, and if I got there early enough, I would see you literally work out on some weight machine,” the “Cheers” alum said. “And then, almost like you were doing circuit training, you would not walk to the next machine, you’d dance. You literally danced to the next machine.”
Van Dyke also told Danson that his workout routine includes a lot of stretching, sit-ups and yoga.
In June, Van Dyke sparked health concerns when he dropped out of a comedy event last-minute.
His wife, Arlene Silver, explained at the time that Van Dyke was not having a “good day.”
“When you’re 99 and a half years old, you have good days and bad days, and unfortunately, today is not a good day for him, and he’s sick that he can’t be here,” Silver told the audience at her husband’s musical fundraising event, Vandy Camp.
During another Vandy Camp event in April, Van Dyke insisted he has no plans of slowing down even despite turning 100 later this year.
“I’m a ham. I love it. I get a jolt of energy from an audience,” he said.
Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
