If you don’t mind a few commercials, then you can find many of Keaton’s classic 70s films streaming free with ads on sites like Pluto TV and Tubi. No subscription or account is needed to watch! And the first on your watch list might as well be The Godfather, aka the movie that thrust Keaton into fame at the age of 26. Annie Hall is perhaps Keaton’s most beloved and remembered film of all, and you can stream it for free with adds on Pluto TV or Tubi. Director and co-writer Woody Allen wrote the role of Annie—a smart, cultured, free-spirited NYC woman—specifically for Keaton, which is maybe why the character feels so unique, real, and charming. And of course, Keaton’s tie, vest, and baggy pants combo is one of the most iconic movie costumes of all time.

If you can stomach watching a movie where Woody Allen cast himself as a 42-year-old comedy writer dating a 17-year-old girl (Mariel Hemingway), then you can follow up your viewing of Annie Hall with a viewing of Manhattan, which is also on Pluto TV and Tubi. This comedy about messy NYC relationships stars Keaton as Mary, a cultured, smart, NYC woman who’s too good for Allen. No one did too-good-for-Woody-Allen like Keaton.
