“For a bunch of people that didn’t want me back on your team, [y’all] sure are mad in the [DMs],” Williams wrote with a crying laughing emoji on his account.

Williams joined the Yankees in a trade with the Brewers with a lot of expectations as a two-time National League Reliever of the Year, but he struggled out of the gate with a 9.00 ERA in his first 12 outings. He was initially removed from the closer role at the end of April, and though he got save opportunities during the summer, it was David Bednar who primarily got ninth-inning chances down the stretch.

Williams still finished the year with strong peripherals — his whiff rate was in the 99th percentile — but his back-of-the-baseball-card numbers were not as gaudy as usual, and his ERA was a career-worst 4.79.

“I think overall [my season] was pretty good, to be honest,” Williams said at the end of the season. “At the end of the day, I think it was along the lines with what I’ve done in the past, outside of a few blowup games. I feel like I contributed.”

He now joins the back end of the Mets bullpen in a yet-to-be-determined role, as it remains to be seen if they’ll re-sign closer Edwin Díaz or bring in another reliever to shore up the late innings.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
