Mulroney cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split and listed their separation date as “TBD.”
The actor, 61, requested that the court grant him spousal support, but asked for it to be terminated for Apollinaare, 52.
The requested terms for child support and custody for the estranged couple’s two kids, Mabel, 17, and Sally, 15, have yet to be determined.
Reps for Mulroney and Apollinaare weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
The “Wedding Date” star and the Italian native got married in 2008 following Mulroney’s split from his first ex-wife, Catherine Keener, whom he was wed from 1990 to 2007.
Mulroney previously got candid about quickly tying the knot to Apollinaare during a 2012 appearance on “The Rosie Show.”
“A lot of it doesn’t make sense, but you can’t deny your heart,” he said.
Apollinaare has previously shown her support for her estranged husband’s career, telling Entertainment Weekly that she’s seen “all of his movies.”
“To be honest with you, I think the only movie I did not see of his is Scream VI, not because I don’t care for it, it’s just I don’t care for the genre,” Apollinaare said in February 2024, referring to Mulroney’s 2023 horror film.
“But I always think his movies are excellent. I really like it.”
Last year, the “Anybody But You” star and Apollinaare made an appearance on Fox’s game show “We Are Family.”
At the time, the duo performed a rendition of Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ 1983 hit, “Island in the Stream.”
Gushing over the duet, Mulroney told Entertainment Weekly how he and Apollinaare are a “musical family and have that in common.”
