An acquaintance called the cops after finding the lifeless body of the man – who spent a great deal of his time at sea – on board the boat, the sources said.
The man, who may have died about a week before he was discovered, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS, according to cops and sources.
He suffered no apparent signs of trauma and was not immediately believed to be the victim of a crime.
In an unrelated discovery about four hours earlier, the decomposed corpse of an unidentified man was found near the shoreline at Spring Creek Park – at the intersection of 63rd Avenue and 83rd Street in Howard Beach, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene following the grisly 8:40 a.m. discovery, cops said.
There were no visible signs of trauma, and no criminality was immediately suspected in that death either, police said.
